Italian military balaclava with zipper in the mouth area, olive color, is a headgear usually worn by soldiers in cold weather. It is made of warm material and covers the head, neck and face, leaving only the eyes exposed. The zipper function in the mouth area allows easy access to the mouth, making it easier to eat, drink and communicate without removing the balaclava. Our condition standards classify "New (Surplus)" as items that have been issued to military personnel but have not been used.

Militaries of many countries issue basic and spare military equipment to their personnel so that soldiers can easily replace damaged or lost equipment during missions.

Since the military replaces/updates issued equipment periodically, every 2-4 years depending on the country, in some cases spare personnel equipment returns to military warehouses unused, but no longer used due to the high standards of the military.
